June 17 Webinar: Are EO Training Providers Keeping Pace with Evolving User Needs?

As governments, businesses, and communities increasingly rely on Earth observations (EO) to inform decisions, demand for EO knowledge and skills is growing rapidly. At the same time, AI and other technologies are re-shaping the analytical landscape – and the way that training is delivered.

Are EO training providers keeping up with users’ changing needs?

Join us 17 June from 13:00–14:15 UTC for a webinar to explore the rapidly changing demand for EO capacity building and how it is shaping the future of EO training.

The session will bring together decision-makers, private sector representatives, and capacity-building providers to discuss emerging trends in EO learning. Discussion will touch on the growing diversity of user communities as well as the role of artificial intelligence and other digital technologies – both in transforming the ways analysis is done and training is developed and delivered.

Discussion Topics

  • How are EO workforce and capacity-building needs evolving across government and industry?
  • How are public and private sector audiences for EO training changing, and what does that mean for EO providers?
  • Are current training approaches still appropriate? Do they need to evolve as well?
  • How can AI and emerging technologies make EO learning more accessible, personalized, and effective?

Speakers will represent national government agencies, the private sector, and EO capacity-building organizations.

Check back for announcements on speakers!

The webinar is jointly hosted by the CEOS Working Group on Capacity Building and Data Democracy (WGCapD) and the Earth Observation Training, Education, and Capacity Development Network (EOTEC DevNet).
