Recent Meetings: Regional Floods Working Groups, July 19-20

Through our regional communities of practice, you can connect to experts, identify resources for your work, help set capacity building priorities for your region, and find collaboration partners.

Africa region – July 19 (13:00-14:15 UTC)
Americas region – July 19 (16:00-17:15 UTC)
Asia-Oceania region – July 20 (03:00-04:15 UTC)
Europe region – July 20 (13:00-14:15 UTC)

Role of thematic working group members: 

  • Participate in meetings quarterly or twice each year (varies by region)
  • Sustain progress on the working group’s activities through online engagement and collaboration in between meetings
  • Contribute to EOTEC DevNet global products, including a new tool to track flood-related capacity building resources, as well as guidance documents and use cases
  • Identify regional and national capacity development gaps within the thematic area  

Ideal qualifications for floods working group members: 

  • Regular professional engagement on Earth observations and topics related to flood risk management, response, and early warning
  • Knowledge of related data, tools, and training resources
  • Strong connections to relevant matter experts, researchers, and data providers
  • Interest and passion in supporting and growing this network
