EOTEC DevNet @ ESA LPS 2025
The ESA Living Planet Symposium 2025 in Vienna was more than a gathering, it was a celebration of Earth Observation, collaboration, and shared purpose. With over 6,500 participants, 50+ hands-on sessions and tutorials, and countless conversations across sectors, the energy throughout the week was inspiring.
🌍 EOTEC DevNet was proud to contribute to the growing momentum around education, training, and practical capacity building. From Sunday tutorials to Friday wrap-ups, it was clear: delivering EO data to people on the ground, and equipping them to use it, is no longer a side conversation, it’s at the center of the EO agenda.
🔹 We shared our approach in the session “Trends in Earth Observation Education and Capacity Building: Embracing Emerging Technologies and Open Innovations,” highlighting how EOTEC DevNet connects regional needs with global tools and partnerships. Thank you to the session chairs for the opportunity to present alongside incredible colleagues from NASA ARSET, IEEE GRSS, SpaceSUITE, EO College, and others.
🔹 The week also spotlighted key partnerships, including Africa-Europe cooperation, CopernicusLAC in Latin America, and grassroots education efforts, and underscored the role of open innovation in helping EO reach new communities and sectors.
🎉 One important highlight: seeing the strong and growing community of practitioners who believe that capacity building is not just a supporting activity, it’s where real change begins. Now is the time to invest in people and partnerships.
