Regional Drought Meet-ups Highlight Practical Approaches to Impact Monitoring

The October 2025 EOTEC DevNet Regional Drought Working Group meet-ups brought together experts from Africa, the Americas, Asia–Oceania, and Europe to exchange practical experiences and strengthen collaboration on drought impact monitoring.

Participants discussed new global guidance presented by the Integrated Drought Management Programme (IDMP) and regional applications integrating Earth Observation (EO), early warning systems, and AI-based forecasting. Across all sessions, participants emphasized the importance of aligning drought initiatives and improving the use of EO data for impact-based decision-making.
