Virtual Laboratory for Training and Education in Satellite Meteorology
The Virtual Laboratory for Training and Education in Satellite Meteorology (VLab) is a collaborative initiative between the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites (CGMS). VLab aims to enhance the utilization of satellite data and products for weather, climate, and environmental monitoring. It achieves this through capacity-building and training activities targeted at meteorological and hydrological services worldwide.
VLab provides a virtual learning environment where experts from different regions can share knowledge, tools, and best practices. It offers webinars, online courses, and workshops designed to improve the skills and capabilities of professionals in using satellite meteorology. VLab’s efforts help ensure that all countries can effectively use satellite data for weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and disaster management.
