Training Course on Tropical Cyclone Forecast

This course provides knowledge on the basics of tropical cyclone including structure, genesis, intensity change, track, dynamics. It also offers more advanced treatment of TC like TC extratropical transition and its climatological implications and prediction. The course also covers skills on technology-enabled TC forecast from satellite and radar data integration and assimilation. Progresses in TC forecast from Chinese meteorological services will also be covered by it. The course will end with a technical exchange session involving reports or presentations from trainees.
