Satellite Application Course (SAC-XVI) – Classroom

The objective of the satellite applications training course is to optimize the use of data from meteorological satellites and to increase the knowledge and skills of meteorological trainers, contributing to improve forecasting.

This one week classroom course will be preceded by a mandatory online course (Identifying African Weather Systems & Features in Satellite Imagery).

The purpose of the course is to (a) Develop the participants’ awareness of what is possible with imagery in the context of operational forecasting; (b) Help in self-assessment of the current skills, and learn from other forecasters. (c) Develop the awareness of how satellite image use fits into the forecasting process.
