Course Description
The course is committed to offering high quality and advanced information of the UN Early Warnings for All Initiative, and China new actions regarding disaster risk reduction in response to severe convection weather. Participants are expected to improve their knowledge and skills of nowcasting techniques, especially impact-based forecasting in disaster prevention and mitigation. The course is also aimed to promote technical exchange and future cooperation in related fields.
Course Organization
All the course materials will be uploaded on the newly upgraded MOOC website (http://mooc.cmatc.cma.cn). Participants should follow the website instructions to learn from the recorded lectures and join the live lectures. Participants will be encouraged to discuss the topics presented and actively participate in the live lectures and forums. Participants who have completed all the training activities as required will be issued a digital certificate by CMATC/WMO RTC Beijing.
Instructors
The course will be given by senior experts from CMA and other academic institutions. The training course will be conducted in English.
Application and Participation
1)Participants are requested to submit the completed Application Form (https://forms.office.com/r/xjf2R2d22P) no later than 17th September 2023. The printed version is not accepted.
2)The participants are required to finish all the coursewares and quizzes. Each participant who has completed all the training courses will be issued a digital certificate of the participation by CMATC/WMO RTC Beijing. And for those who deliver the presentations on the Forums or submit detailed summary reports, the Certificate of Outstanding Performance will be issued.

4)The distance training course is free of charge.
