Convection Working Group meeting

The Convection Working Group meeting has been co-organized with the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, and will be hosted by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics.
A number of applications in the area of severe convective storm detection and nowcasting have been developed by various users, especially making use of the multi-spectral capabilities of the Meteosat Second Generation satellite series. The focus of the working group is to have a comprehensive inventory of the available applications in this field, with the aim to get deeper insight into the differences, commonalities, and weaknesses of the available techniques and products and their specific area of application. Another important aspect of the work of the Working Group is to facilitate the transfer of developed techniques into operations.
