Advanced Meteorological Training Course

Semester- I (27 weeks) Date of commencement: 10.09.2018
1.Observational System:- Meteorological Variables, Surface observation & Charting, Instrumentation, Aviation, Pillot Ballon Theory, Upper air observation (First 4 weeks)
2. Core Meteorological Subjects:- Dynamic Meteorology, Physical , Physical Oceanography/ Marine Meteorology Meteorology, Thermo dynamics, Synoptic Meteorology , Climatology, Statistics (Next 10 weeks)
3. Remote Sensing Met.:- Satellite, Met Radar Met, Met Communication & Information (Next 2 weeks)
4. Operational Meteorology:- Weather analysis & Forecasting, Aviation (Next 2 weeks)
5. Applied Met.:- Environmental Met Hydromet, Agriculture Met Seismology and Astronomy (Next 3 weeks)
6. DBM Data Base Management (Next 1 week)
7. Joining + Examination + Familiarization (Next 3 weeks)
8. On the Job Training at Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorological Institute Pune, National Water Academy, Weather Section, INOSHAC, Agri-Met. Division, Instrument Lab., Radiation Lab., AMO Mumbai / AFS Lohegaon, Pune (Next 2 weeks)
Semester- II (23 weeks) Date of commencement: 1st week of April
1. Core Meteorological Subjects:- Geophysical fluid dynamics, Advanced Physical Meteorology, Climate Science, Physical Oceanography & Ocean-Atmosphere interaction, Advanced Statistics (First 8 weeks)
2. Numerical weather Prediction and Computer Programming & application :-Numerical weather Prediction and Computer Programming & application (Next 5 weeks)
3. Operational Meteorology:- Advanced weather analysis & forecasting, Advanced Aviation Meteorology (Next 3 weeks)
4. Applied Met:-. Hydro-Meteorology (Next 1 week)
5. Examination:- EXAM, VIVA VOCE Project Presentation (Next 3 weeks)
6. OJT & Relief On the Job training at IMD New Delhi and Relief after completion of OJT (Next 3 weeks)
