EUMETSAT operate the Copernicus Sentinel-3 mission and are responsible for the generation and dissemination of marine products, including those from the multi-spectral Ocean and Land Colour Instrument (OLCI) sensor. We also offer a number of tools for managing and processing multi- and hyperspectral in situ radiometry data for the purposes of ocean colour validation. During this 4-hour training event we will demonstrate how to access our data, and give an overview of some of these tools. We will cover;
* Programmatic access to Copernicus Sentinel-3 OLCI data, using EUMDAC and the EUMETSAT Data Store
* How to format data for, and submit data to, the Copernicus Ocean Colour Database (OCDB)
* An overview of the GLORIA hyperspectral in situ data base
* How to use the ThoMaS match-up toolkit to validate OLCI multi-spectral ocean colour products in OCDB/SeaBass format in situ data
* Provide an overview and demonstration of the FRM4SOC Hyper CP processor
The tutorial will provide examples of how to work with our data using open-source Python packages and freely shareable Jupyter Notebooks. In addition, we will outline future EUMETSAT training opportunities in 2024 and beyond, and provide a platform for an open discussion on any facet of EUMETSAT ocean colour data.
