The International Training Course on Climate Change Response Capabilities through AI Empowerment will be organized by China Meteorological Administration International Cooperation and Training Centre (CMA ICTC), which is designated as WMO RTC-Beijing, and co-sponsored by China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), from 19 to 31 March 2026 in Beijing & Qingdao, China.
Against the backdrop of global climate change and the increasing demand for effective response strategies, this Course focuses on the practical application of AI to enhance climate change response capabilities. By integrating theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice, the Course aims to strengthen participants’ ability to use AI in improving climate monitoring, forecasting, and the development of adaptation and mitigation strategies. Expected learning outcomes include but are not limited to:
1)Proficiency in applying AI to climate change monitoring, data analysis, and predictive model building;
2)Strengthened capacity to develop AI-driven climate adaptation and mitigation strategies;
3)Enhanced competency in leveraging AI to assess policy impacts and support science-based climate policy and decision-making;
Improved collaboration among participants and international experts through a dedicated platform for knowledge exchange and sharing of best practices.
