Use of rapid scan data for monitoring and nowcasting of high impact weather

Benefits of more frequent rapid scan data (e.g. using the 2.5-min experimental data collected with MSG satellites in 2012 and 2013, the 1-min data from GOES-14 from the SRSOR campaign, or numerical model simulations), comparing these to presently available 5-minute RSS and 15-minute MSG data.

The course is namely for central and eastern European forecasters and PhD students of meteorology
