The training course is aimed to enhance the participants’ understanding in international and China’s meteorological observing system and especially in the operation and maintenance of automatic weather station (AWS).
The training course includes:
Part I: Online Courseware (21 May – 1 June)
1) A series of courseware regarding AWS’s basic structure and working principle, power supply unit and power maintenance, the operation and maintenance of a variety of sensors.
Part II: Online Lectures via Real-time Systems (4 June – 6 June)
1) Introduction to WMO Integrated Global Observing System (WIGOS);
2) Introduction to China’s Integrated Meteorological Observing System;
3) Overview of Chinese new automatic weather station (AWS) and 3D visualization demonstration of AWS’ structure and operation in Virtual Reality (VR).
Part III: Online Discussion and Closing Ceremony via Real-time Systems (7 June)
