Based on WMO competency framework for aeronautical meteorological observers and observations, it is expected that the participants learn to use satellite information as a complement to characterize divverent chanels and distinguish and identify surfaces, clouds , suspensions and other elements. And at the same time it is important that this personnel become aware of their limitations in looking at satellite images, but take advantage of the basic information provided by sat images which describes the current meteorological state and helps to be prepared for impending weather.

En base a los marcos de competencias OMM para Observadores Aeronáuticos y Observaciones, se espera que los participantes logren utilizar la información satelital como complemento al caracterizar los diferentes canales y diferenciar e identificar superficies, nubes, suspensiones y otros elementos. Es importante que el personal encargado de las observaciones tome conciencia de sus limitaciones al mirar las imágenes satelitales, pero al mismo tiempo permitir que se nutra de esta información básica disponible que describe el contexto meteorológico actual y que le permite estar preparado para el estado del tiempo inminente.
