The aim of this training is for forecasters to have skills to:
Recognize the different types of aerosols present in the atmosphere, their emission sources and their impact on human health, land and air transport.
Identify the role of aerosols in the climate system and its impact on the different meteorological variables.
Recognize the main characteristics of aerosols to characterize their presence in the atmosphere and distinguish different types of aerosols.
Analyze and integrate observation methods that currently exist from the surface and remotely to monitor aerosols in the atmosphere.
Promote the use of available observations for the diagnosis of meteorological situations and the forecast of their evolution.
This training uses satellite products to detect fire sources, smoke plumes, volcanic ash and mineral dust.
