NOAA/WMO RA IV An Interactive Analysis of Tropical Storm Philippe Workshop

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), in collaboration with the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology & Hydrology (CIMH) and the Caribbean Meteorological Organization (CMO) Headquarters Unit have developed a virtual training case study workshop focused on analyzing Tropical Storm Philippe as the cyclone evolved and crossed the Caribbean Islands late September/early October 2023.

This workshop will provide an interactive analysis of TS Philippe through the use of satellite data and products, models, forecasts and reports which were used to identify, track, predict, and warn about the multi-hazard impacts of the storm, successes, challenges, and future improvements. Hands-on exercises and prediction practices will supplement the training, allowing the participants to address forecasting challenges and improve decision making. This is an English language only event with no simultaneous interpretation available.
