The workshop, co-organized by ESSL and EUMETSAT is focused on the FCI L2 developments of relevance for forecasters. The idea is to get an overview on the status from the different groups and explore the potential for inclusion of products into the 2025 Forecaster Testbeds, and more in general for the training and user preparation purposes.
The following topics are treated:
1. SMT (total moisture) products and its relevance for convective initiation (CI)
2. Status of cloud mask, all-sky radiance, AMVs, and optical cloud analysis.
3. NWC-SAF insight into how the MTG data changes their products in early test runs (for example RDT product).
