Google Flood Hub Innovations at the Jan 15/16 Floods Working Group meetings
EOTEC DevNet’s first community of practice gatherings of 2025 will feature a spotlight session on Google Flood Hub, an AI-powered, publicly available flood forecasting tool covering 80 countries.
Google’s Martin Gauch, an expert in machine learning and hydrology, will provide an update on the tool’s latest capabilities and global coverage. For background, watch Google’s flood hub presentation at EOTEC’s April 2023 floods working group meetings.
Other agenda items: a discussion of 2025 plans, including a request for member input on webinar topics and a new format for COP meetings. As always, time is allotted for member contributions – feel free to share updates on your research, capacity building activities, news from your organization, and other related topics.
