INTERNATIONAL DISTANCE TRAINING COURSE ON NOWCASTING TECHNIQUES ON SEVERE CONVECTION WEATHER

The training course is aimed to enhance the participants’ understanding of severe convection weather, improve their nowcasting techniques, and promote the technical exchange and future cooperation in related fields. Meanwhile, in this course a unit named a Virtual-China-Tour is newly introduced to present the current development of meteorological services in China and to interview meteorological staff with special contributions via Vlog. This course will be open to all officials, specialists and experts who are working in the field of forecast and other related fields at NMHSs or equivalent institutions from all six regions, especially from developing countries and regions.

Participants are also invited to join the Forum on Regional Climate Monitoring-Assessment-Prediction for Asia (FOCRAII 2022) organized by Beijing Climate Centre (BCC) and WMO on 9th May 2022 virtually. The FOCRAII aims to address long-term forecast, climate monitoring, data services and product training. Participants from international organizations and national meteorological and hydrological services (NMHSs) are encouraged to share regional climate monitoring and discuss the outlook of climate anomalies in the upcoming summer.
