From Satellite Data to Images in Minutes Using Our Web Mapping Application, EUMETView

The EUMETSAT Data Access Team invites you to participate in our 4-week course series designed to take users from the basics to advanced features of our Pull Data Access Service, EUMETView. These short, focused sessions will guide you step-by-step, ensuring you gain practical experience with the tools and services available.

All course participants will be provided access to the course resources, including presentations, documentation, and additional materials, via a dedicated section on the EUMETSAT Classroom platform. You will also be able to interact with the instructors and fellow participants through this portal.

SESSION 1: Basics of EUMETView and GUI Interaction

In this session, participants will learn the fundamentals of EUMETView, including how to locate relevant resources. We will cover the graphical user interface (GUI) and guide you through customizing the basemap, adding layers, creating images and animations, and saving or sharing your outputs with colleagues.

SESSION 2: Integrating EUMETView with QGIS

Ideal for users with GIS skills, this session will demonstrate how to integrate EUMETView data into QGIS. We’ll show you how to upload EUMETSAT data layers into your QGIS maps, simplifying your workflows and enhancing your analysis.

SESSION 3: Advanced EUMETView – Using APIs

This session will focus on interacting with EUMETView’s APIs via Jupyter Notebooks. You will learn how to leverage various services provided by EUMETView, allowing you to access and download specific data collections and products based on your needs.

SESSION 4: Showcasing EUMETView Use Cases
