ARSET – Using the UN Biodiversity Lab to Monitor the Pulse of the Planet

Our intermediate course will integrate lectures and Q&A to provide learners with an understanding of the power of spatial data to address key international commitments and training on how to use all key functionalities of the UN Biodiversity Lab. UNBL will be a key offering to support parties and other stakeholders to implement, monitor, and report on the CBD’s Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).
This webinar series will provide in-depth training on new functionalities available through UNBL, explore collections that can help users generate insight to inform action and share stories from the ground of UNDP’s work with countries to map their Essential Life Support Areas. Attendees will be provided an overview of the use of remote sensing data for conservation and sustainable development, hands-on training on UNBL data and tools, and the chance to interact with national leaders in conservation and sustainable development from around the world. Learning objectives will focus on building attendees’ competence to fully use all UNBL tools and data. Speakers will include NASA scientists, UN policy specialists and data experts, and national policymakers. This training will be offered in English, Spanish, and French.
