Seasonal forecast of meteorological droughts

Speaker: Emanuel Dutra (ECMWF, UK) graduated in meteorology with a PhD on the role of snow cover on land surface – atmosphere interactions at University of Lisbon Portugal.
He joined ECMWF in 2011 to work in the DEWFORA project aiming at drought early warning and mitigation in Africa. His main activities have been focused in the development of a pre-operational system for monitoring and seasonal forecasting of meteorological droughts globally with particular interest over Africa.
